In a nutshell, this is an online community for Modesto-area moms. We get it. Parenting is an adventure, a challenge, and sometimes just downright frustrating. This is a place for you to share all of that; the ups and downs, the tales of diaper explosions or homework troubles, the place to celebrate the little and big things in life.
We also have several featured mom bloggers from a variety of backgrounds. These moms will blog regularly about what's going on in their families:
I'm the mom of three young adults who are in their twenties and who are on the threshold of independence. As all of them no longer live at home, I flutter around in the empty nest. I love to read and since I still have a need to nurture, I enjoy caring for my garden. I've been married for 31 years to my wonderful husband Joe and I appreciate his calmness and logic. It's the balance in my worrisome, alarmist and sentimental nature. My blog will be a place for me to reminisce, reveal, provoke laughter, seek advice and vent. Enjoy.
I was the city editor of The Bee but recently stepped back into reporting, to spend more time with my 15-month old son, Nicholas. I'm also the stepmother to two teen-age girls. I spend a lot of time at sporting events and other various competitions for the girls - Nicholas went to his first track meet at 9 days old. As far as motherhood, I still feel like I don't really know what I'm doing, but he hasn't figured that out yet and I am loving every minute.
I am a mom first and a photojournalist second. I love my job at The Modesto running the Multimedia Images department and covering our community. The best thing I ever did was to become a mother to my beautiful, handsome five year old little boy.The home I have with my husband and child is where my heart lives. It is a challenge to juggle a full time job and family- in my experience you’ve got to keep laughing to ensure the sanity.
I like to think I am an experienced mom but sometimes I am at a loss. I'm the mom of two girls, ages 6 and 4 1/2 and have been married to my college sweetheart for 14 years. My quest in life is to strike the perfect balance between work and home. I'm the director of information and news operations at The Bee and the site administrator for modmomsclub.com. Like Patty, I am a loyal Fresno State fan and began indoctrinating my children long ago. In my endless amount of spare time I like to run, read and travel.
