I moved from the East Bay to East Modesto last summer and was looking for a moms group. I tried starting my own group as well as a meetup group and found that it isn't always the perfect fit. Moms are all so different and it's hard to find a group that's right for you and your child. I finally found MOMS Club. MOMS Club is a group geared toward stay at home or part-time working moms looking for fun activities to do with their children during the week. I have been an active member of the group for 7 months now.

I was wondering if any other moms have yet had to weigh the options of whether to vaccinate their daughters 9 and over against HPV (a virus causing cervical cancer).
At my daughter's last checkup, the doctor recommended I have her vaccinated. I've seen the Guardasil commercials and have been perusing their website (http://www.gardasil.com/) and it sounds like an amazing breakthrough to be honest.

There you have it. A story on the wire today proclaims that schools aren't going to be nitpicky about kids coming to school with lice eggs in their hair. They do draw the line at actual lice crawling around. Stay away if that's the case. What do you think? Should kids with nits be allowed to stay in school?
I personally can't get past the ick factor on this one. Plus, I wonder what our local school policies are. Anyone know?

Scientists have suggested that pointing, waving and other natural gestures seem to boost a budding vocabulary. What do you think?

Inquiring minds want to know. What do you think of the newsmaking mom of 6 who just had 8 more babies?

Hey ladies! We are going to start a new feature on ModMomsClub called Mom of the Week. It will be a short question and answer blog that gives you the chance to share a little bit about yourself with our growing community of mommies.
We'd love to include a photo of you as well!
If you are interested in being profiled or would like to nominate someone, send me an email!

I am a disabled Army veteran. I want to know if there are other disabled moms around this area.
