Boy Hands
We were at a Super Bowl party this weekend, and my friend's wife, who hadn't seen Nicholas in a while, said, "Oh, he has such boy hands, doesn't he?" It got me to thinking about his hands, not that I know the difference between boy hands and girl hands. They are hands that I imagine one day will be covered in mud, and bringing me a frog. And raiding the refrigerator of anything edible. And hopefully, grasping a college diploma. (And if Joe has his way, a contract from the Yankees.) But right now, they're the hands that unfailingly find the little baby hairs at the back of my neck to pull - ouch. They're the hands that are learning to hang on to my shoulder when we're going somewhere. And they're the hands that only recently have started to reach for me when he's upset, or hurt, or just bored. I absolutely love those little boy hands.

I adore my children's hands too and from my perspective I have to say that until our son joined his 4 older sisters in our family I never thought that there was much difference between boy hands and girl hands...I learned soon enough.Still, my wishes, hopes and reams remains just as big and beautiful for all of those wonderful hands in my family.
This was such a lovely post. Thank you for sharing.
