Don't read this if you haven't seen the recent Angelina Jolie flick called Changeling that is currently in the movie theatres. Being a HUGE Angie fan (I see anything she's in) I went to see this film on the day it came out, knowing only a little about what it was about. BIG MISTAKE! HELLO!!! Kidnapping, murder of little boys in graphic detail. Even though it's been weeks since I've seen it-it still haunts me. I guess I related too personally with the subject matter-having a five year old son myself. I wanted to leave many times during the movie but as any great Clint Eastwood directed film can do, I was sucked in early and captivated by the story. Not to mention it is a true story. Long and the short of it-single mother with an only son gets called into work on a Saturday. She returns home to find kid gone...vanished into thin air,

five months later the Los Angeles Police Department returns a kid to her that is not her child and then commits Mom to an insane assylum when she tells them they found the wrong kid. Movie goes on to reveal just what happens to her kid and about 16 other little boys-they are kidnapped and some brutally murdered by this monster.... some escape but we don't know how many.

So we're left with this empty, aggravating,nagging hope that her little one got away and will one day make his way back to her. There is some vindication and a glimpse that life can go on but the way I see it is...isn't life hard enough as it is? Why did I choose to subject myself to over two hours of torture? I couldn't wait to get back to my boy and hug him tight.

The next day I took him to see High School Musical 3....but that's another blog for another day.
