DIY Flip Flops

Kids shoes go from floppy to fancy with this easy transformation.

Fancy flip-flops

Ages: 3 and older

Supplies

1 pair of flip-flops

Two spools of 1/2 -inch-wide coordinating ribbons

Scissors

Dritz Fray Check

Directions

1. Cut 40 7-inch pieces of ribbon; you will use approximately 10 pieces for each side of each flip-flop.

2. Tie and knot ribbons onto flip-flop straps, alternating coordinating ribbons. Push the knots close together.

3. Trim ends to desired length. Apply Dritz Fray Check to ends of ribbon.

4. Do the next shoe!

So cute...this was a big fad amongst scrapbookers a couple years ago.  They're a fun kids b'day party favor also--(well, maybe for girls, notsomuch boys, LOL) but you can buy flipflops at the dollar store, and several spools of ribbon for a few bucks.  I recommend cutting the ribbons up FIRST if you have a group doing it.
