I admit it...

After just over a week of ignoring my family, I'll admit it.  I am officially a Twilight Mom.

Laugh, yes laugh.  It's hysterical.

Two friends of mine (yes they are my age) are in book clubs that have read the series by Stephenie Meyer.  I kept hearing about the books but with my hectic schedule as of late, it has been close to impossible to sit down with a book.  A co-worker brought Twilight to work and loaned it to me, swearing I'd like it.

In a nutshell, it 's the story of a high school girl who falls in love with...a vampire.

Is it teenagery?  Yes.  Is it addictive?  YES.  I literally haven't been able to put the series down.  I'm a hopeless romantic and the storyline of these books is really a tragic love story.  It's teens making decisions that call for maturity far beyond their years.

In fact, fellow modmoms blogger Joan Lee and I were at a 9:10 showing of Twilight at Brenden the other night to see for ourselves if the movie came close to the book.  Our answer?  No, but we enjoyed it nevertheless after we stopped laughing about some of the "special effects".

And while, yes I've been the butt of jokes lately, I'd like to think I'm setting a good example for my kids for reading so much lately!

Okay - my confession:  .....I read all FOUR books over the Thanksgiving holidays.  We went away for 10 days and I managed to read all 4 books in that 10 days.  My husband told me "I'm glad you got some 'you time' that you needed, but I'm also glad there's only 4 of them".  I can sooooo identify!

I could name 3 or 4 of my mom friends who, like me, are addicted to Twilight!  I loved reading the book and the day after I finished it, saw it in the theater.  Loved them both.  Now I'm on to the 2nd book, and can't wait for that movie as well.

Reading about Bella took me back to those feelings when you have the biggest crush on a boy, and you can't wait to get to school to see him!

You should start a forum so we can discuss!  I've been talking about it incessantly and annoying my husband.  I just finished Breaking Dawn Friday night.  I read it in like two days (600+ pages).  I was at Borders on Saturday with a friend and all the ladies behind the registers had read them and were talking about them.  Hilarious!
