In addition to running Stroller Strides Modesto, I also teach Baby Signs Programs in Modesto (Baby Signs by Beth).  Infant signing was SUCH a wonderful experience for our family that I wanted to provide support, encouragement, and education for other parents who were interested in signing with their children.  If you aren’t familiar with infant signing, it involves using sign language with hearing babies to help communicate with them before they learn to talk. 
When I explain this to people I usually get one of if not all of the following questions:
-doesn’t it delay speech? (absolutely NOT – in fact the opposite!)
-doesn’t that take a lot of work and effort?
-why would you want to do that for such a short time?
-how cool to “talk” with your baby so early?
-when does your baby start to “talk” back to you?
-when and how do you get started?
