My kids eat sushi!

Actually they don't. But I can dream right? I have personally witnessed children eating sashimi so I know it's possible.

Pre-kids (I usually refer to that period in my life as LA-LA LAND), I knew Iwas going to raise kids who didn't eat junk food.  My kids were going to snack on baby carrots and apples, turn their noses up at sweets and be adventureous in their food choices.

Strike one.  They eat junk food on occasion.

Strike two.  They don't snack on baby carrots and apples

Strike three.  They dabble in sweets and the thought of trying shrimp makes them scream.

Like I said, LA-LA LAND.

Every day I am left shaking my head about their narrow view of food.  Actually, I do more than shake my head.

I keep reading that repeated exposure to new foods will help kids overcome their fear of new food.  Not mine.  Seriously, I have exposed my youngest to broccoli week after week and still she won't touch the stuff.

Not to mention I am probably breaking some mommy rule by making separate meals many nights of the week.

I've followed the rules and the rules aren't working.

When will my LA-LA LAND become reality?
