I've never participated in Black Friday and sometimes I feel like I'm missing out on a big secret , but then I get those visions of lines in the dark, pushing crowds, crazed shoppers pulling my hair to get the last Wii Fit and I decide sleep is much more important!
Thanks to my mother, I have to get up and out there every Black Friday. But not for actual shopping. Years ago, when JC Penney started giving away snow globes, she picked them up for my stepdaughters. Now, of course, we can't miss a year. So I hauled myself out of bed at 3:30 a.m., picked up my mom and went to Penneys. We got there a bit after 4, walked in, got our freebies and walked out. I dropped my mom off and hit the gym - which, unusually, I had to myself in the predawn hours. Everyone else apparently was working out in the WalMart line.
SKIPPED IT, and happily so! There are just SO many good deals available online now (even "black friday" ones) and those start at Midnight, so I can snag my deals before I go to bed on Thanksgiving!
I just don't have the desire to do the traditional mob-scene anymore. People in general are much ruder (is that a word? LOL) than they were years ago when I did go out every Black Friday.
Hope someone got some great deals though if they did go!
I agree with iScream. I haven't braved Black Friday in many years; those stories this year of people dying are just crazy! And yeah, deals abound online and make shopping so easy, there just isn't any draw for me to get up early and fight with the crowds. But I hate shopping in just about any situation...

Why are there so few characters who just happened to be Muslims in US sitcoms?

This year, we slept in. Even 2 year old Jakob slept...it was great. =)
