Question of the Week: Christmas Shopping

The holiday season is upon us. Have you started shopping? Or maybe talking Christmas mid-November is overkill for you. Share you thoughts!

I find it hard to barely get groceries for the week these days.  To try and imagine starting my Christmas shopping... EEKS!  I went looking for a nice Thanksgiving platter to give to our hostess for Thanksgiving dinner and was unsuccessful....guess I should have bought it when I was out getting my 4th of July decorations!  I'll probably do my Xmas shopping in one swoop....one weekend mid-December should do it!

absolutely not one gift, i think i want to skip christmas this year... i usually go WAY overboard with my giving, but this year i dont have it, i usually spend close to a grand on my friends and family combined... even last year when i tried the 20 dollar budget gifting, it still tallied over a grand! i just dont want to give some one something that they wont like, i an not one of those people that buy something that is on sale and hope so and so likes it, i like to get each person one thing on thier list... anyway, no i havent started, and with mervyns going bankrupt, you would think i would be out there buying up all of the good stuff before it is all gone....

OMG!  You gals are kicking my butt on this one!

I usually have a fair amount done by now but not this year.  I've been overwhelmed by 600 other things and haven't bought one present!  It is freaking me out!

I do have a shopping trip scheduled soon in Gilroy to hopefully get some stuff knocked out.  Although I think the men in my family are sick of Eddie Bauer outlet gifts :)

This probably sounds corny but every year my Doug and I have a "date night"...when we go out to dinner, have a drink and run into Toys R Us and knock out the toy part.  Seriously, to even go into Toys R Us in December probably requires much more than just "a drink".

I'm about 40% done with my Christmas shopping.  I normally start in September, and am done by the end of November.  I have a special spot in a closet under the stairs that I start stashing things in as I get them.

I always have Amazon wishlists that I CREATE for the whole family and update them year-long.  That way when uncles, grandparents, etc want to know what the kids want, I can point them that direction.  And the kids don't know what's on the lists, so everything is still a surprise.

I buy almost all of my shopping online or through QVC and love the convenience.  I don't have time to troll the malls, and even if I DID have time, I'd rather spend those few hours geocaching with the kids, or taking a little daytrip, than stuck in the mall.

Happy Holidays!

I am about 30% done but I wish I was finished! I like to be done by Thanksgiving so we can enjoy December as much as possible. I have 5 kids so I need to be as organized as possible. My oldest wants a Wii, I heard they were impossible to get, my husband bought one last week so I guess we were lucky!!!! The hard part is over. I buy some online but I still like to go out and do the shopping. I am hoping to finish tomorrow!

Yes, they are all mine!
