What are your plans for Turkey day? Are you hosting a meal? Or maybe you lucked out and don't have to do the cooking this year. Share your thoughts.

This year we are hosting Turkey Day at our new house. I have a guest list of 35 of our immediate family joining us. My husband is making the Turkey's and I'm making a few sides. The family is asked to bring a dish or two and beverages. We are really looking forward to it. Lot's and lot's of food and hopefully NO drama. =)
Hope everyone has a great day, and you get to spend it with friends and family. Enjoy. =)
We are among those traveling this holiday. Okay, we're traveling a half-mile down to Mom's house. Then I'm heading to work, where I hope the tryptophan coma holds off long enough for me to get out a newspaper. I haven't hosted a big Thanksgiving meal since something we call "the gravy incident," but I'd be willing to give it a shot again. One of these days.
We're hosting the meal, but it's just us, the kids and my in-laws this year. We’ll serve salmon as the main course. We keep a kosher-dairy kitchen, so meat isn’t eaten in our home. I haven’t had turkey since 1993 (and red meat since 1987), but recently reintroduced fish into my diet. Fish is not considered meat under kosher rules.
ANYway, here's the menu:
almond-encrusted salmon
Israeli couscous sautéed with pine nuts and spinach
Israeli salad
squash with rosemary, sage and cider glaze
cranberry sauce
mashed potatoes with shallots (sans chicken broth)
peas with pearl onions
green beans
pumpkin challah
pecan pie
bittersweet chocolate mousse
My husband has chosen some cheeses, olives and pickles to set out ahead of time, and he’ll be making the salmon, the salad and the mousse. My mother-in-law is bringing a lighter dessert and a kugel. We’re going to feast on the leftovers until Monday, I suspect.
