I've made no bones about the fact that I HATE Bratz dolls. I've gone so far as to ask people not to buy them for my girls.  Some descibe them as edgy; I think they look vampy and trashy. 

And the name drives me up the wall.  Bratz?  First of all, the letter Z does not make a word plural.  Second, brat isn't a nice word.  It's a nasty word that girls throw at each other.  Heaven knows we have enough name-calling going on in this world.  Why make the word cool?

Naturally I started doing a happy dance when news hit that Mattel had succeeded in their quest to stop Bratz-makers MGA from producing them.  As one mommy site put it: "Barbie B**** Slaps Bratz".

Sounds like a doll designer at Mattel came up with the Bratz concept while employed there and then shopped it to MGA.  Oopsie.  Of course MGA is planning to appeal.

So pardon me while I continue my happy dance and wave bye-bye to those Bratz...at least for now.
