Hi I'm not a single mom, but I do live in Oakdale.  I have 5 kids, my oldest is 17 (not into playdates), my son in 6 1/2 (and also a 1st. grader, who loves the park), 4 1/2 yr. old girl, almost 2 yr. old boy and 6 week old girl.  My husband has had to put quite a bit of time into his job lately which has taken him away from home for extended periods so I can somewhat relate to being alone.  My kids all react to it differently.  I believe that my son though takes it the hardest.  I'd love to chat with you if your interested.
