Summer is right around the corner

Good grief! If you don't take all the rain into consideration, it certainly feels like summer is just around the corner. Which also means I begin panicking about find things for my girls to do over the summer so they don't get bored and drive me nuts.

I thought I'd point out a couple of things you may or may not know about:

  1. 1. The City of Modesto has their Summer Activity Guide online at http://www.modestogov.com/prnd/activityguide/. The activity guide is full of things ranging from swim lessons to archery classes to dance classes for kids. Check it out!

2. Junior Giants is registering kids in May for its summer league. Junior Giants is a free, non-competitive baseball program for girls and boys entering grades K-8 in the 2010-2011 school year. The program focuses on the fundamentals of baseball as well as character development. Kids earn a free ticket to a San Francisco Giants baseball game when they participate in the Junior Giants reading program. Registration is May 4, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Neighborhood Center at Marshall Park, 420 A Chicago Ave. or May 6, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center, 211 Bodem St.  (we love JG, the kids get a free Giants hat and shirt when they participate too!)

3. And lastly, free movies at Graceada Park are back! See the complete list in the activity guide.
