summer vacation
Hi, I work 4 days a week 7 am to 5:30 pm, and my husband works 7 days in a row 6 am to 6 pm, then has 7 days off, but has a side job that keeps him busy. We have a 16 year old boy, and 2 13 year old girls. What can we do to keep them occuppied, not bored, out of trouble, yet maybe learning a thing or two? They are all creative, active, intelligent, and good children. However, that could change if they have too much free time on their hands. Is there a summer camp, that is a fun camp, yet not school or religously oriented than anyone knows of? They are all athletic, and diverse by nature, but very adaptable. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, I also have a 13 & 16 year old both boys. I recently moved here to Modesto. Our family doesn't really know anyone here. I am looking for work as an RN now. I am home all day and so our boys. Maybe we can get together and if our kids hit if off they can hang out sometimes. We are always looking for things to do during the day. If your children were hanging out with mine I could drive those places and there would be an adult around to just keep an eye out. I am a pediatric registered nurse and love kids especially teens. Anyway that is just a thought. Figured it would be a good way for my boys to meet other kids, and me to meet some new people.
I recently found out that Yosemite lanes have a kids bowl free all summer program. All kids under 15. Also you can add a family pass to that which is for up to 4 teens or adults (any 4 people ) who can also bowl 2 games each & every day until September for free. The family pass cost only $23.95. So for $24 bucks you can have 4 adults or teens and any children bowl 2 games a day for the next 3 1/2 months. Just a suggestion.

There are lots of summer camps at the area athletic clubs. Both Modesto Racquet and the SOS club have had advertisments for camps.
I also got a flyer in the mail about soccer camps at Stanislaus State this summer too.
Good luck!
