I noticed this blog entry on the Web site of our sister paper, The Sacramento Bee. Some of the stores she cites are not in our area, but there are some good suggestions at stores we do have here, such as Raleys and Save Mart. Or, you can do what I do, which is even cheaper: head to Mom's for eats.
