They leave, they fall apart...

I've been thinking that maybe this year I'm going to pass on my tradition of Easter baskets full of candy coated eggs, a spring treat and some plastic eggs stuffed with a bit of cash, for my kids ... this year instead the celebration package might just include, Vitamin C, heating pads, Kleenex, band-aids and ibuprofen.

Man, my adult children are always ailing, if it isn't a cold, it's a headache, if it isn't aches and pains from ice-blocking (which just as a side note probably shouldn't be done after you've graduated college ... hint, hint to my eldest), then its oozing raspberries on the forearms and hips of my son from sliding into home at a friendly non-competitive softball game (another hint, you're going to be a dad, stop sliding!)

I know that they all had their fair share of sniffles, coughs, sprains and broken bones when they were little, I remember them well, but shouldn't they have out grown that... aren't they taking care of themselves... are they sleeping enough, eating right, having fun, but playing safe?

So as I sit here wondering if my one daughter's headache has subsided, if my son's wounds have left scars and if my other daughters cold let her get some sleep, I'm contemplating aiding with their healthcare, by preparing a grown-up, adult, big kid now, health kit to give to each of them as a Easter/Spring surprise.

No Cadbury eggs, no jelly beans, nope, the chocolate bunny is making way for Nyquil, Curads, Neosporin, throat lozenges and maybe I'll throw in a batch of 'Gotta get 'em healthy' chicken soup!

i knew this was coming!  So much, that I checked yesterday to see if it was posted after you called me at work!  You taught us well, we take care of ourselves within 20-30 year old's reason ; p

FYI to others:  it was just a little hill and the ice block got turned sideways so I rolled a bit, that's all!

First, is this what I have to look forward to?

And second, can I have their Easter baskets?
