The things I learn
Is it safe to admit that my first-grader knows more about mammals than I do?
Abby's class has been learning about mammals. So now I'm learning about mammals.
I've learned that the Platypus is a mammal. I had no idea, but then again, I generally don't sit around for hours thinking of things like this. Not only are they mammals but they are the only mammals to lay eggs. Interesting. Who knew?
I also learned that Anteaters are mammals as well. I guess it makes sense but again, I generally don't sit around and think about this kind of stuff.
In all seriousness, it is pretty cool to see Abby soak up all of this information and then be excited by it enough to come home and share it with me. In fact, I think it is really cool.
I sat down and just listened to her rattle off all of this information this morning and truly enjoyed it. It was one of those parenting moments that I live for. I just sat back, listened and learned.

ME ME!! I knew the platypus stuff!! LOL don't ask me how or when I picked that up, but I did in fact, know it!
Kids are such little sponges, aren't they? :-)
Sponges for sure!
I won't mention the things my kids have soaked up that they probably shouldn't have! :)
